Tracie McKinley PA, Physician Assistant

Certified Physician Assistant, Tracie McKinley, joined UMC Physician Network Services in May of 2012 to work in the float pool. This has given her the opportunity to work in various clinics including Post and Plainview. She is a full-time provider at Express Care Clinic at South Plains Mall.

For many years, Tracie knew she wanted to help people and she wanted to continue to learn. Tracie grew up around healthcare professionals, with several family members who were nurses. She was exploring opportunities to further her career by shadowing a Physical Therapist when she saw something that caught her attention. After observing the interaction between the physical therapist and a physician assistant as they discussed the patient’s care plan, she says she took a detour and became interested in becoming a physician assistant. She is extremely pleased with her career choice.

Tracie graduated from Texas Tech University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sports Science. She continued her education at the University of St. Francis in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She is a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, receiving her certification in June of 2011. She also holds memberships in the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology -Physician Assistants.

When she’s not at the clinic, Tracie spends time with her long-term boyfriend, Lucas, and family and friends. She especially enjoys being outside; caring for her pets (mules, dogs, cats and chickens) and working at her pecan orchard, give Tracie plenty of time to do just that.
