Family Practice Physician / Occupational Medicine
Mario Pena, M.D., is a physician at LakeRidge Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Urgent Care Medicine. Dr. Pena is also a certified Medical Review Officer for Occupational Medicine.
Dr. Pena received his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He served his internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas.
He has held the positions of Chief of Medical Staff and Chief of Family Medicine for South Park Medical Center Hospital in Lubbock as well as serving on its Board of Directors.
Dr. Pena is a member of the Lubbock County Medical Society.
Dr. Pena is married to Elsa and they have two children. In his spare time Dr. Pena is a professional trumpet player, enjoys weight training and has accumulated extensive historical reading material. Dr. Pena received his Masters’ degree in Public Health and is certified by the American Board of Urgent Care Medicine and the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
