Jennifer Ezell (Jenny) is a native of New Zealand, where she obtained her RN. Initially she was recruited to the USA in 1980, as and RN to assist with a shortage of licensed staff. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1991 at Texas Tech University School of Nursing, followed by completion of the Family Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master’s Degree in 1995. Her experience has included Cardiology, Gerontology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Family Medicine with an emphasis on urgent care medicine.
With the growing complexity of health care many patients are seeing nurse practitioners for their primary care needs. “I feel family nurse practitioners have a long history of engaging patients in their care, helping them understand their illness and practical measures they can take to improve their health care , from my perspective, the family is the patient so individuals are treated within the context of the family, we are taught to collaborate with other healthcare providers to enhance patient health and well-being”
Ms. Ezell works in collaboration with the physicians at LakeRidge Primary Medical Center, Dr. Mario Pena, Dr. Marissa Yates and Dr. David Long, in association with the expertise of specialists within the UMC Health System and Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Ms. Ezell cares for patients of all ages from infants to elderly, and is accepting new patients.
Interests outside of the work place include a diversity of sports and outdoor activities, including scuba-diving, working with horses, water sports, gardening and traveling the globe when she can. The longest trip she’s taken was Kathmandu, Nepal, traveling on a bus to London, England, a very much loved six month trip.
