Dr. Tyson Purdy joins UMC Physicians after leaving a successful private practice in his hometown of Muleshoe. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Purdy completed his Family Medicine Residency at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa in San Antonio, Texas in 2011.
Dr. Purdy is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Purdy is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Academy of Family Physicians and Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Purdy and his wife, Kayla, have a daughter and a son. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, hunting, music, travel and his family.
Dr. Purdy chose a career in the healthcare field because his father is a rural Family Medicine doctor and he wants to carry on his legacy of providing personal, quality care to the whole person. He will achieve this with a good attitude and a happy heart.
